MOSCOW, November 30 (Sputnik) – Petro Poroshenko Bloc party leader Yuriy Lutsenko has stressed that corruption remains a major problem within the Ukrainian government.
"Hundreds of millions continue to be stolen almost from every resource ministry. Bribery is considered to be a sign of power," Lutsenko wrote on his Facebook page Saturday.
Lutsenko stressed that "radical reforms" are needed at this "critical time" also saying that Ukraine's previous Cabinet failed to launch any reforms in the course of 8 months.
On Thursday, Ukraine's parliamentary coalition nominated incumbent Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk to occupy the same position in the newly-formed government.
Lutsenko said Thursday that Ukraine's new Cabinet of Ministers is likely to be announced by December 2.
According to Ukrainian law, the parliament (Verkhovna Rada) draws up a list of government officials and passes its nominee for prime minister to the country's president for approval. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said several times that he would grant his approval to Yatsenyuk to head the newly-formed government.
Early parliamentary elections were held in Ukraine on October 26. After the vote, on November 21, representatives of five Ukrainian parties signed a draft agreement on the creation of a pro-European coalition in the Verkhovna Rada. The Opposition Bloc was not invited to join the coalition "over considerable political disagreements".
The agreement was drafted by the Petro Poroshenko Bloc and published on the party's website.
