MOSCOW, November 30 (Sputnik) — Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit Sudan in the beginning of December to meet with his counterpart Ali Karti and the country's President Omar Bashir, a spokesman of Sudan's Foreign Ministry told Sputnik Sunday.

"The foreign ministers will hold a round of bilateral talks," Youssef Kordofani told Sputnik, specifying that the sides will discuss the "ways to enhance bilateral relations in political, economic and cultural spheres, as well as to coordinate the two countries' positions within international organizations."

"Sudan views Russia as one of the leading states that define international politics in general. Russia also has developed economic and technological capabilities. We hope we will be able to benefit from these technologies and count on the cooperation in the fields of economy and transport," Kordofani continued, adding that Sudan also seeks stronger ties in energy sphere and agriculture.

Moreover, Sudan is also interested in cooperation with Moscow in the sphere of finances and in the creation of a joint investment bank.
