"The foreign ministers will hold a round of bilateral talks," Youssef Kordofani told Sputnik, specifying that the sides will discuss the "ways to enhance bilateral relations in political, economic and cultural spheres, as well as to coordinate the two countries' positions within international organizations."
According to the spokesman, Lavrov will also meet with Sudan's President Omar Bashir and participate in the second round of the Forum on Arab-Russian partnership scheduled for December 2-4.
"Sudan views Russia as one of the leading states that define international politics in general. Russia also has developed economic and technological capabilities. We hope we will be able to benefit from these technologies and count on the cooperation in the fields of economy and transport," Kordofani continued, adding that Sudan also seeks stronger ties in energy sphere and agriculture.
Moreover, Sudan is also interested in cooperation with Moscow in the sphere of finances and in the creation of a joint investment bank.
The next meeting of a joint Russian-Sudanese ministerial committee will take place in Moscow on December 10-12, the spokesman concluded.
