MOSCOW, December 1 (Sputnik) — At least one person has died, with seven rescued and 54 listed as missing after a South Korean trawler sank off near Russia's Far Eastern region, a law enforcement source told RIA Novosti on Monday.
"According to updated information, seven people, including one Russian national, have been rescued, one person died. The fate of 54 remains unknown," the source said.
Earlier, it was reported that 56 people were missing.
According to preliminary information, there were 62 people on board the Orion-501 trawler, 61 of them South Korean citizens.
The trawler made no distress signal prior to the disaster.
Rescue teams are currently at the site searching for the missing.
