MOSCOW, December 1 (Sputnik) — Cooperation between NATO and Russia is mutually advantageous, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated Monday.
"Cooperation [between NATO and Russia] is an advantage for both of us," Stoltenberg told journalists at a news conference.
The secretary general also added that Russia has a choice when it comes to relations with NATO.
"Russia can either continue to violate the international law and not respecting integrity and sovereignty of sovereign nations and thereby becoming more and more isolated or Russia can choose to respect its international obligations, to respect international law, and once again try to engage with NATO and NATO allies in a more cooperative and constructive relationship," Stoltenberg said.
Relations between Russia and NATO have deteriorated following accusations against Russia of meddling in the Ukrainian conflict, a claim that Russia has repeatedly denied.
