MOSCOW, December 4 (Sputnik) – A Russian MiG-29 Fulcrum trainer jet has crashed outside Moscow and both pilots survived, a military source told RIA Novosti on Thursday.
“A MiG-29 jet fighter crashed near the settlement of Chemodurovo in the Voskresensky region. Both pilots have been hospitalized,” the source said.
The fighter was completely destroyed and there was no damage to structures in the area, the source added.
One of the pilots is currently treated at a hospital in Moscow, and the other one has been taken to the regional hospital of Voskresensk. Condition of both of them is moderate, according to the source.
The main version of the disaster is a technical malfunction, however pilot's error is also considered.
