Putin: Russian Business Should Be Freed From Obsessive Control
MOSCOW, December 4 (Sputnik) – Proposals made by Russian President Vladimir Putin during his state-of-the-nation address to parliament should not be treated as a new economic policy, the Kremlin spokesman said Thursday.

“I presume that there is no reason to speak of a new economic policy because measures to support small and medium-sized businesses and to increase transparency of tax authorities, regulators and other bodies are being consistently put into practice. This is not something new, something that was announced for the first time today,” Dmitry Peskov told journalists.

Peskov added that a list of the president's instructions to the government will be compiled within the next few days.

During his state-of-the-nation address earlier on Thursday, President Putin called on the removal of "obsessive" bureaucratic control over law-abiding businesses, suggested total amnesty for offshore capital returning to Russia and announced a two-year tax break for start-ups.
