Addressing professors of natural science universities in Tehran, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Hossein Salami said that these drones are adapted for the rapid transfer of images and cannot be detected by enemy radar.
The Iranian military official noted that the UAVs were developed without foreign assistance.
"Eventually, we were able to produce a pistonless engine for unmanned aerial vehicle without the use of UK or US technology," he added.
According to Salami, a number of states are already considering the possibility of making deals with Iran for the supply of such engines.
In November 2013, Iran unveiled the Fotros drone with a range of up to 2,000 kilometers (1242 miles), which is capable of carrying missiles. The same year, Iran announced that it would start mass producing combat drones developed using captured US aerial vehicles as a blueprint.
