"The time is now for all of us to show the necessary courage and commitment to ensure nuclear disarmament, safeguards, and strict non-proliferation. We therefore urge states that have not yet done so to sign and ratify the NPT, and member states to fully comply with it,” Denmark’s delegation said in a statement following the conference in Vienna.
The Danish delegation expressed concern over the increased number of conflicts raging all across the globe.
Denmark also urged all states to sign and ratify the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, stressing that the common goal is a world free of nuclear weapons.
The Third International Conference on the Humanitarian Impact of Nuclear Weapons took place in Vienna on December 8 and 9 and aimed to highlight the humanitarian aspect of nuclear weapon issues.
