MOSCOW, December 11 (Sputnik) — The UK Prime Minister David Cameron has announced a new package of national and international measures to tackle the proliferation of child sexual abuse images online and hunt for Internet pedophiles, speaking at the #WeProtect Children Online Summit in London Thursday.

More than 30 countries taking part in the Summit agreed to increase "law enforcement ability to track more paedophiles and help more victims" and set up national databases of child sex abuse materials which work with Interpol's databases, according to the press release by prime minister's Office.
The Prime Minister also announced the establishment of a new joint National Crime Agency (NCA)/Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) specialist unit, aiming at developing a new technological capabilities to destroy the "dark web" used by pedophiles sharing child abuse images online.
Tech-industry giants including Facebook, Google and Yahoo will also develop new solutions to prevent the spread of child sex abuse images via their services. They will focus on using hashing technology to track down offenders, according to the press release.
The distribution of obscene images of children in the United Kingdom has nearly doubled since 2010. Over 1,000 alleged pedophiles were arrested in Britain over the last year, according to the prime minister's Office.
