NEW DELHI, December 16 (Sputnik) — Indian President Shri Pranab Mukherjee expressed his deep anguish on Tuesday over a terrorist attack on an army school in the Pakistani city of Peshawar.
“The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has expressed deep anguish and strongly condemned the killing of innocent school children and teachers by terrorists in the Army Public School, Peshawar today,” an official press release said.
The Indian president added that all countries must unite to battle terrorism and stop such “heinous" acts against humanity.
On Tuesday, six Taliban gunmen in suicide vests carried out terrorist attacks in the school in the city of Peshawar, killing 130 people, most of them children. Various media reports, citing Taliban sources, said that the attack was retaliation for the recent Pakistani army advances against the extremist group.
