A generous elderly man who witnesses say looks like Old Saint Nick gave out $100 bills to all employees at several coffee shops in Hyannis, Massachusetts on Saturday.
The man, who was wearing a ball cap, visited the shops and asked managers how many people work there, and then handed over an envelope of cash for each worker, with “MERRY CHRISTMAS” printed in red on the front of each envelope.
Employees were stunned by his generosity, but didn’t recognize the man as a regular. Some say he looks like Santa.
“He just came in wearing a hat, kind of looked like Santa Claus, the beard,” one manager said.
“I literally had a girl almost break down in tears in how much excitement, because she really needed a hundred dollars. People with children here, they’re so excited because they have an extra hundred dollars for Christmas.”
The man visited Marylou’s Coffee Shop, two McDonald’s, two Dunkin’ Donuts, and a Burger King in Hyannis.
“He was kind of like an angel, honestly,” one receiver said. “I have goosebumps still.”
