MOSCOW, December 22 (Sputnik) — The tenth Russian humanitarian aid convoy to Ukraine’s eastern Donbas region has returned home, said Russian Emergencies Ministry spokesperson Alexander Drobyshevsky.
“Another stage of the humanitarian operation is successfully completed. More than 180 vehicles that delivered aid today to the Donetsk and Luhansk regions have returned empty,” Drobyshevsky said late Sunday.
The convoy delivered close upon 1,400 tons of humanitarian aid to south-eastern Ukraine.
Since August, Russian humanitarian convoys have delivered more than 13,000 tons of aid to Donbas, which is facing a major humanitarian crisis after Kiev launched a military operation against local independence supporters in April.
