MOSCOW, December 22 (Sputnik) — Pakistan could face more terrorist attacks similar to the horrific massacre last week at a school in the city of Peshawar, conducted by Taliban militants, which killed over 140 people, most of them children, the country's Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said Monday.
While waging a war on terrorists, Pakistan should be prepared to face difficulties, he added, according to Press TV.
On Tuesday, the Taliban attacked a school in Peshawar resulting in over 140 fatalities, most of them children. The Taliban claimed that the attack was revenge for military operations conducted by Pakistani armed forces.
Pakistani troops started an offensive against Taliban in the North Waziristan area close to the Afghanistan border back in June, in response to an attack by the taliban on Karachi's Jinnah Airport. The Peshawar school attack prompted Pakistani authorities to lift the country's moratorium on capital punishment.
