The study by the Distinguished Senior Fellow of the Gatestone Institute, Soeren Kern presents a chronological review of the most important articles on Islam and Muslims that appeared in French newspapers from January 1, to December 21, 2014.
Among the most important topic-related pieces, the report cites a confidential French intelligence document obtained by Le Figaro in April: it suggested that schools nationwide are experiencing a rise in what is being referred to as Muslim ghettoization. "Muslim students are effectively establishing an Islamic parallel society completely cut off from non-Muslim students," the article said.
According to an Ipsos survey carried out in January 2014, also quoted in the review, 66 percent of the population of France believes there are too many foreigners in France.
The Muslim population in France in 2014 remained unchanged from the previous year's figure of 6.5 million people. This is almost 10 percent of the country's population and the most significant share in the European Union.
The Islamization of France in 2014 is the third annual review Soeren Kern has published on the topic. He has also published reviews on the Islamization of Germany (in 2012 and 2013), the Islamization of Britain (2013) and the Islamization of Belgium and the Netherlands (2013).
