The Contact Group comprises representatives of Russia, the Kiev government, the self-proclaimed Ukrainian republics of Donetsk and Luhansk and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
The diversion of artillery to a safe distance from the Donbas boundary, the exchange of prisoners, the lifting of the economic blockade from Donbas and an introduction of a law regarding the special status of the region are the topics that will be discussed at the meeting, Donetsk People's Republic's negotiator Denis Pushilin stated earlier this month.
The Contact Group on Ukraine has met before in Minsk on September 5 and September 19. The talks resulted in a ceasefire agreement between the warring sides of the conflict. However, they have repeatedly accused each other of violating the truce since the deal was reached.
