MOSCOW, December 25 (Sputnik) — Beijing will send inspection officers to all governmental structures and central party organizations in an attempt to enhance the ongoing anti-corruption campaign, China Daily reported Thursday.
"Deploying supervision teams to all central Party and government bodies will enhance regular supervisory capacity and help prevent and curb corruption at its root," Deputy Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Chinese Communist Party (CCDICP) Chen Wenqing said as quoted by the news outlet.
Chen added that the new measures will reduce the risk of corruption and prevent them in future.
Supervision officers have already been sent to 52 government agencies, according to China Daily.
In 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping launched a large-scale anti-corruption campaign. The CCDICP has announced that it punished 182,000 officials involved in corruption in 2013, a rise of 13 percent above 2012. As of first nine months of 2014, more than 13,000 officials were convicted of corruption and bribery, according to CCDIP.
