MOSCOW, December 26 (Sputnik) –A 51-year-old woman tested positive for swine flu (H1N1 virus) and died at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH) in Delhi on Wednesday.
"The patient at the time of admission to SGRH was in a critical state. She had lung failure and was on high frequency ventilator support. Her diagnosis at Ghaziabad hospital and SGRH confirmed it to be a case of swine flu. Despite best efforts of doctors at SGRH, the patient expired on December 24 (Wednesday) morning," stated a hospital statement, as reported by The Hindustan Times.
The health department has provided the Tamiflu vaccine to people who were in contact with the patient, including the hospital staff and her family members.
So far there have only been two cases of swine flu reported in Delhi, reports NDTV.
