MOSCOW, December 26 (Sputnik) –Elon Musk has confirmed an upgrade for the Tesla Roadster, the electric car company's convertible model, and says that the new feature significantly boosts its range. The new Tesla Roadster will be able to travel some 400 miles on a single charge, reports The Washington Post.

The previous model could only travel up to 244 miles on a single charge. According to the company, the new Roadster is expected to travel more than 400-mile, improving its range by nearly double.
More details are expected to follow, but for now, Elon Musk hinted that the Roadster retrofit would involve substitution of a totally new battery pack.
The Roadster's starting price is over $100,000, but, Musk said the technologies equipped in the roadster will eventually make its way to the Model S.
