Beterbiev was a 2008 and 2012 Russian Olympian. Since turning professional, he moved to Quebec, Canada together with his mother, wife and three children to pursue his career.
Beterbiev is an aggressive, seek-and-destroy type of fighter, who chases his opponents around the ring, trying to score a knockout. In addition to his superb boxing skills and a knockout power, Beterbiev has a granite chin and the heart of a champion, which he demonstrated in his last outing against Jeff Page. After suffering a quick knockdown, Beterbiev came back in vengeance and violently destroyed his opponent in the second round.
The light heavyweight from Dagestan is expected to fight five times in 2015, according to fight promoter Yvon Michel. Beterbiev is not far from getting a major fight, becoming an even bigger name in the world boxing scene.
