Earlier on Sunday, Kiselev told RIA Novosti that a meeting between representatives of the Ukrainian forces and Luhansk militia had not been scheduled yet, though the self-proclaimed republic was ready to engage in talks “anytime, if there is a compromise.”
The defense minister of the neighboring Donetsk People’s Republic is scheduled to meet with Ukraine’s Armed Forces upcoming Monday, though the sides are yet to confirm whether the issue of prisoner exchange will be on the agenda.
Several detainee swaps have been carried out by Kiev and the self-proclaimed republics after the sides reached a ceasefire deal in Minsk in September, despite reports of truce violations on both sides.
The latest prisoner exchange between Donbas militia and Kiev took place on Friday following a new round of Minsk talks. The militia transferred some 145 detainees, while the Ukrainian forces transferred 222 captives.
