Police say one suspect is in custody and they are searching for the second one.
The incident occurred at 62nd and Hoover streets at about 9:20 p.m. Police say every available officer has been sent to the area.
Authorities said two officers were rolling down the street when they observed the muzzle of a rifle firing in their direction, according to CBS Los Angeles.
A rifle has reportedly been recovered. But it remains unclear if more than one weapon was used in the alleged attack.
