MOSCOW, January 3 (Sputnik) — No violations of Russian airspace have been registered in the past year, Russian Defense Ministry spokesperson Igor Klimov said Saturday.
“In 2014… no violations of state borders by foreign aircraft or breach of air rules by domestic users were registered,” Klimov stated.
Russian experts controlled the flights of more than 380,000 aircraft above the country’s territory during the year, he added.
Over the past year, a number of NATO members have expressed concern over Russia’s alleged violations of their airspace. The Russian Ministry of Defense has denied the claims, stating that the Russian Air Force’s flights are in compliance with international agreements.
