MOSCOW, January 5 (Sputnik) – Thomas Gilbert Sr, a 70-year old hedge fund founder, has been found shot dead in his New York apartment, US media reported.
Gilbert Sr. was shot in the head in his Manhattan apartment on the East Side and was pronounced dead at the scene, New York police said, according to the Huffington Post.
The body was found at about 3:30 p.m. local time (8:30 p.m. GMT) with a gun lying nearby. The police said the deceased’s son, Thomas Gilbert Jr., was taken into police custody Sunday night in connection with the incident, as reportedly the two had an argument prior to the incident, Wall Street Journal said.

Gilbert Sr. founded Wainscott Capital Partners Fund in 2011. The fund has $200 million in assets and focuses on the biotech and health care industries.
Gilbert Sr. was a graduate of Harvard Business School and Princeton University, according to the BBC.
