MOSCOW, January 7 (Sputnik) — Two people including the alleged gunman have been confirmed dead after a shooting at a clinic in the US city of El Paso, Texas, US Army Maj. Gen. Stephen M. Twitty said.
“The alleged shooter is dead and we have one casualty… the shooting incident is under investigation,” Twitty told reporters.
The shooting, which took place on at around 4 p.m. local time (11 p.m. GMT) on Tuesday, was initially reported to have happened at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center, but was later confirmed to have taken place at neighbouring El Paso VA Health Care System.
Shortly after the incident, local media reported that the alleged gunman was found dead at the scene after what appeared to be a suicide, while a doctor working at the clinic had been shot and injured.
