French police reportedly suspect two Frenchmen of Algerian origin in Wednesday terrorist attack on the Charlie Hebdo magazine’s office in Paris.

PARIS, January 7 (Sputnik) — French police suspect two Frenchmen of Algerian origin in Wednesday terrorist attack on the Charlie Hebdo magazine’s office in Paris, French Le Point magazine said Wednesday.

On Wednesday, three masked men opened fire in the office of satirical weekly magazine in Paris, Charlie Hebdo killing 12 people, 10 of them journalists and two police officers.

According to Le Point, the French authorities currently suspect two men, aged 32 and 34, from Paris suburb of Pantin. In the summer of 2014 both of them have returned from Syria where they could have taken part in military actions. In 2008, one of the suspects was charged in the case of Iraqi terrorist cell which was active in north-eastern Paris. From 2003 to 2005, the terrorist group recruited dozens of young Frenchmen to fight in Iraq.

Le Point said a third suspect in the Charlie Hebdo attack case is a homeless 18-year-old, although the information has not yet received any official confirmation.

French Metro News, however, confirms this information citing its own source in police. According to the newspaper, the first two suspects are brothers Said and Cherif K. The third suspect, 18-year-old Hamyd M. is believed to be a student.
