Following the January 7 terrorist attack on the French magazine Charlie Hebdo, more than 15,000 people gathered in central Paris to support freedom of expression. Holding placards which said 'Je Suis Charlie', cities around the world — from San Francisco to Hong Kong, joined to show solidarity with those killed in the massacre.
