MOSCOW, January 9 (Sputnik) — Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov called the recent media reports claiming that Russian President Vladimir Putin has bought a villa in Spain an unoriginal joke.
On January 8, the British Daily Mail newspaper reported that Putin has bought a mansion with a vineyard in Spain and plans to produce expensive wines.
"It is an unoriginal joke… It is not true," Peskov said in an interview with Ekho Moskvy (Echo of Moscow) radio station.
The spokesperson also lamented that many journalists of late have failed to demonstrate a high level of professional standards.
