Police in Evansville said they discovered the photos after a sting in which they arrested 19-year-old Michael Barnes attempting to sell them a handgun. In the video, Barnes and a female voice identified as the girls mother, 22-year-old Toni Wilson, can be heard trying to get the girl to say “pow.” Barnes can also be head saying "shoot that thing."
The mother claimed the girl was only holding a pellet gun but investigators said they have identified the weapon as a.40-caliber pistol. The gun’s magazine was apparently removed but they were not able to ascertain a bullet was still in the chamber.
No one tried to stop the girl, policesaid. In addition to charges of child neglect and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon for both Barnes and Wilson, Barnes also faces charges in connection with the attempted gun sale.
