PARIS, January 10 (Sputnik) – The four people who fell victim to the recent attack at a kosher shop in the French capital were most likely killed right after they were taken hostage and not during the subsequent police operation, Paris prosecutor Francois Molins has announced.

"We can assume that no hostage was killed during the [police] assault," Molins said Friday, adding that, based on the attacker's statements and autopsy data, the four people were likely killed soon after the gunman rushed into the shop.

On Friday, Amedy Coulibaly took several people hostage at a kosher shop in eastern Paris. Coulibaly threatened to kill the hostages if police killed the Kouachi brothers, suspected of carrying out the Wednesday terrorist attack on the Charlie Hebdo magazine, which took the lives of 12 people and injured another 11.

Coulibaly was killed by French police later on Friday. According to media reports, 15 hostages were released from the kosher shop. French President Francois Hollande said in a televised address to the nation Friday that four people were killed as a result of the hostage-taking.
