The two men, both 24, are apparently twin brothers, who were trying to leave Canada to participate in terrorist activity abroad, NBC News says.
Carlos Larmond was arrested at Montreal’s airport, while trying to leave the country and charged with participating in the activity of a terrorist group and attempting to leave Canada to participate in terrorist activity abroad, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) statement, Canadian media reports.

His brother, Ashton Carlton Larmond was arrested in Ottawa and charged with facilitating terrorist activity, participating in the activity of a terrorist group and instructing for a terrorist group, CBC reports.
“Through collaborative efforts with our partners, we were able to prevent these individuals leaving Canada to engage in terrorist activity overseas,” RCMP statement said, according to CBC.
RCMP has not provided any further details regarding the investigation or the charges.
