"I will be in Moscow in two days, and after this, at our meeting at the European Union on January 19, we will discuss relations between the EU and Russia, because this is on our agenda," mixnews.lv cited Rinkevics as saying.
Relations between Russia and the European Union have been strained in recent months as the 28-member bloc has accused Russia of meddling in the Ukrainian crisis. Moscow has repeatedly denied the claims, calling for political dialogues between the two warring parties in Ukraine.
The European Union, alongside the United States and a number of allied countries, has introduced several rounds of sanctions against Russia, causing Moscow to respond with a one-year ban on the import of most agricultural products from the countries that had introduced sanctions against it.
