LONDON, January 13 (Sputnik) – Up to 27,000 bus workers are expected to take part in a 24-hour strike in London Tuesday, organized by the Unite union amid bus drivers' dissatisfaction with their wages.

According to the warning statement, at least nine bus companies will be affected by the strike.
On Monday, Unite announced that "two thirds of London bus passengers think the capital's bus drivers should be paid the same". Currently, there are over 80 different pay rates covering London's bus drivers, the union explained.
The different pay rates for London bus workers who often drive the same routes has led to pay gaps of over $3 an hour, according to Unite.
