The date of the new trial and has not been disclosed.
In May 2014, the court sentenced Mubarak, who was overthrown in 2011, to three years in jail for appropriating over $14 million of public funds. His sons, Gamal and Alaa, have been sentenced to four years apiece.

The ex-president was accused of being involved in the killing of 846 protesters during a 2011 uprising that ended his 30-year rule. Though initially sentenced to life imprisonment, Mubarak was acquitted of murder charges in November 2014 on a technicality.
Mubarak was president of Egypt for 29 years before he was ousted during the Arab Spring protests.
