Former Mexican Mayor Charged With Abduction of 43 Missing Students
In November, Mexico's Attorney General Jesus Murillo Karam said that members of the Guerreros Unidos gang had confessed to murdering the students and burning their bodies at a Guerrero dump.

The remains of only one of the students, Alexander Mora Venancio, have been identified so far.

The students were abducted on September 26, after they participated in a protest against discriminatory hiring and funding practices in the city of Iguala.

Protests have been ongoing in Mexico since the disappearance of the students, blamed on local authorities.
