"We have arrested three men and recovered 1,020 live cartridges from them. The arrests were made from near Welcome Metro Station in Delhi," Special Commissioner of the Delhi Police Special Cell, S N Srivastava, announced at a press conference Sunday.
According to the commissioner, the arrested come from the Western part of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Police are further investigating the matter, but has ruled out any terror angle.
The US president will be a Chief Guest at the Republic Day parade in New Delhi to be held on January 26.
Security is being heightened in the Indian capital ahead of the event.
