“On January 18, 2015 the UN Disengagement Observer Force observed two unmanned aerial vehicles, flying from the Alpha side and crossing the ceasefire line,” Deputy Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General Farhan Haq said.
Haq added that the UNDOF mission saw the drones moving toward the UN peacekeeping position.
On Sunday, Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Manar television channel reported that an Israeli helicopter fired missiles on a group of militants in the Syrian province of Quneitra. The air attack killed six people, including Jihad Mughniyeh, the son of Hezbollah’s late military commander, and Mohammed Issa, a senior commander responsible for group’s operations in Syria and Iraq.
On Monday, Lebanese As-Safir newspaper cited Hezbollah as promising to stage a “painful” response to the attack.
