MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Peter Mayhew, the actor best known for portraying Han Solo’s furry sidekick Chewbacca in the legendary Star Wars series, has been hospitalized with pneumonia.
According to his Twitter account, Mayhew is already recovering.
Mayhew’s wife confirmed that he was in the hospital but is expected to make a full recovery. Mayhew will be "discharged within a few days. Doctors are incredibly happy with his improvements," she said, as quoted by the Independent.
Peter Mayhew will reprise his famous role as Chewbacca in the upcoming movie "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". The seventh instalment of the series will be release in late 2015.
