A gruesome attack in a Chinese shopping mall left at least two people dead.

MOSCOW, January 21 (Sputnik) – An unknown attacker stabbed three people in a shopping mall in China, leaving at least two dead, a Chinese media outlet Sina reports.

One person was beheaded, while the other one was stabbed to death. The third person was seriously injured.

Police have detained the assailant, according to Sina. An investigation into the gruesome killing is currently underway.

The incident took place at approximately 1 p.m. (4 a.m. GMT) at the third floor of the shopping mall, located in the Chinese city of Yan’an, Shaanxi province.
