MOSCOW, January 21 (Sputnik) — France continues to cooperate with Russia in all spheres of international affairs, Jean-Maurice Ripert, French Ambassador to Russia, told journalists Wednesday.
"France does not seek the split between Russia and Europe… we continue to cooperate with Russia in all international affairs," Ripert said.
The Ukrainian crisis has divided the two countries, but France and Russia are making every effort to end the hostilities, according to the ambassador.
Ripert stressed that Moscow and Paris are cooperating on a number of issues, including anti-terrorism measures, the Syrian crisis, the peace process in the Middle East, the Iranian nuclear program and the Ebola epidemic.
France is planning to add the fight against climate change to the list of projects for French-Russian international cooperation in 2015, the ambassador added.
