HAKADAL, January 23 (Sputnik) – A fire broke out Friday in a house in Hakadal, a small town about an hour north of Oslo.
The tenants were not at home to witness the conflagration; however, ten small dogs were locked inside the home.
Information about the fire reached the local police department at 9.20 AM. A short time later, six fire-fighting vehicles, ambulances, and police cruisers raced to the scene, only to find a house full of trapped dogs.
Firemen from the Romerike fire department forced their way into the building and managed to get all the dogs out.
Ambulance men warmed the four-legged fire victims with blankets. "A patient is a patient", said Knut Brodersen, the ambulance driver who was on duty, about the rescued dogs.
It is reported that the dogs were lucky to be in the smoke-free area of the house when the fire broke out.
By 11 a.m., the situation was completely under control. The local police will now proceed to investigate what may have caused the fire.
