MOSCOW, January 23 (Sputnik) – Assuming the post hours after his half-brother’s death, Salman changed his handle from @HRHPSalman to @KingSalman and wrote several tweets that were broadcast to over 1.3 million of his followers.
"God rest the soul of Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz and grant his people the best rewards in his separation," Salman posted on Twitter. In another message, the king asked for god’s help to serve the Saudi people, secure country’s stability and protect it “from all evil.”
The sixth Saudi king, Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, died aged 90 early on Friday after spending several weeks in hospital with a lung infection.
