WARSAW, January 26 (Sputnik) — The Polish media is cultivating myths concerning the danger Russia allegedly poses to the Eastern European nation, Russian Ambassador to Poland Sergey Andreyev told RIA Novosti Monday.
"Moscow has never threatened Warsaw, I think it is quite obvious. And when we hear the speculation about the threat of aggression, occupation of neighboring countries that allegedly comes from Russia – this is at least puzzling," Andreyev said.
The ambassador also said that Polish national media efforts to demonize Russia only result in panic, and that the threat is "imaginary, unreal."
Government representatives as well as the local press in Poland have warned of a threat to the country posed by Crimea's reunification with Russia in March 2014. In spring 2014, then-Prime Minister Donald Tusk issued an improbable warning that Polish children might not go to school on September 1, because of war in Poland.
