MOSCOW, January 28 (Sputnik) – Attempts to hand Syria "foreign recipes" to settle the country’s current crisis is dangerous because they reflect foreign interests, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Wednesday.
“I think you all understand well the danger of giving Syrians foreign recipes that reflect foreign geopolitical aspirations,” Lavrov said during an intra-Syrian meeting in Moscow.
He also said that it would be impossible to resolve the problems pertaining to the current Syrian conflict in just a few days of talks.
“I think no one has the illusion that in just only a few days of talks that decisions of all the problems can be made,” the Russian Foreign Minister said.
The talks on the Syrian crisis settlement are currently taking place in Moscow, with the participation of Syrian government officials, representatives from internal opposition parties and UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura.
During the first stage of the talks – January 26 and 27 – meetings between Syria's opposition groups were held. The second stage – January 28 and 29 – will be used to conduct negotiations between the Syrian opposition and a government delegation.
