"At least one fatality, and several sent to hospital in 4-alarm Mission fire," Mission Local wrote on Twitter Thursday.
The victim of the fire is an adult male. The four people taken to hospital suffered from smoke inhalation and burn wounds. Eleven others were rescued, the Mission Local said, citing fire chief Joanne Hayes White.

The fire broke out on Wednesday evening at a building containing businesses and apartments in the east-central part of the city. Firefighters continue to work to put out the flames. The cause of the fire is not known.
