MOSCOW, January 29 (Sputnik) — The airport of Manchester, UK, has been shut down to clear snow from its runways, as north of England was hit by heavy snowfall, ITV channel reported Thursday.
No flights will be allowed in or out of the Manchester Airport until 10:30 GMT the earliest, ITV reported.
"We are not accepting any flights in or out due to the weather. If we open at 10.30 those flights that are ready to take off will be able to do so. We might experience a small backlog," the airport spokeswoman said.
Earlier in the day, the airport saw two-hour-long delays due to the weather conditions.
