"I urge all sides involved in the conflict to stop the hostilities and return to the negotiating table. The international community expects the signatories of the Minsk documents to honour their commitments and pave the way for a peaceful resolution of the conflict," Dacic said to Heidi Tagliavini.
Dacic stressed that he expects the Contact Group members and all the signatories of the Minsk documents to gather for a new round of peace talks as soon as possible.
Ukrainian peace talks in the Minsk format have been held several times in the capital of Belarus with representatives from Kiev, Donetsk People's Republic, Luhansk People's Republic, Russia and the OSCE.
The September 2014 Minsk agreements implied a ceasefire between Kiev and independence militias in southeastern Ukraine, an all-for-all prisoner exchange and the withdrawal of heavy weaponry along the line of contact.
Despite the ceasefire, fighting in southeastern Ukraine's Donbas region intensified in the first weeks of January.
