MOSCOW, February 1 (Sputnik) – Seven members of a group of skiers have been swept away by an avalanche on Piz Vilan mountain in southeastern Switzerland, the Guardian reports.
Rescuers have recovered three bodies, another four skiers were found injured and were flown to hospitals in Zurich, the Guardian reported Saturday afternoon, adding that one of the injured died at a hospital later in the day.
The group of skiers consisted of nine members. According to the Guardian, no information is available on what caused the avalanche.
According to the Swiss WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research, there have been 10 fatal avalanche accidents in the country since November. A total of 10 people have died as a result.
