MOSCOW, (Sputnik) – Police discovered two bombs in two different terminals of Cairo’s airport early on Tuesday, Reuters reported, citing its own sources.
Security has been heightened in the airport.
The airport’s security service personnel are currently examining video footage from ICTVs.
The bombs are homemade and look like “sound bombs,” Egyptian Streets reported, citing the Cairo International Airport's head of security.
On the same day, a makeshift bomb exploded in central Cairo near Tahrir Square, International Business Times reported.
There were no immediate reports of causalities and no one has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Last week, at least 29 people were killed and dozens more were injured in a terrorist attack in North Sinai. An Egypt-based militant group affiliated with the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.
