WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US-led coalition continued their onslaught against Islamic State (IS) conducting five airstrikes against IS militants in Syria and nine in Iraq between Monday and Tuesday, the US Central Command said in a statement released Tuesday.
The airstrikes in Syria were conducted using fighter aircraft. The airstrikes took out two IS tactical units in Kobani; multiple IS oil pump jacks and four IS mobile drilling rigs in Al Hasakah; and three IS vehicles and an IS building in Ar Raqqah, according to a CENTCOM statement on airstrikes in Syrian cities.

In Iraq, the coalition utilized attack, fighter, and remotely piloted aircraft against IS militants. The airstrikes destroyed an IS large tactical unit, three IS armored vehicles, an IS front end loader, and an IS building in Bayji; two IS tactical units and an IS vehicle in Tal Afar; two IS tactical units, an IS bridge, and an IS vehicle in Fallujah; and an IS tactical unit and an IS vehicle in Mosul, according to a CENTCOM statement about airstrikes in Iraqi cities.
The coalition previously carried out 27 airstrikes against IS militants between Sunday and Monday, the US Central Command said in a statement.
