The Labour party may lose 35 of the 41 Scottish seats it currently holds in the House of Commons.
The SNP, which currently holds only six seats, is ahead of Labour in 15 of the 16 constituencies polled.
Only 60 percent of those surveyed who said they voted for Labour in 2010 indicated that they would do so again in 2015.
The UK general election is scheduled for May 2015. Voters will elect representatives to sit in the House of Commons – the country's lower house of parliament. The two major rivals in the upcoming elections are the Conservative Party, headed by British Prime Minister David Cameron, and the Labour party led by Ed Miliband.
Public support of the SNP surged after the September 2014 independence referendum, spearheaded by the party. The country voted to remain part of the United Kingdom, with 44.7 percent of the population supporting independence.
